We met them at the ghat before sunrise, when the mist still sits low on the water and the boats are only just starting out.

Out on the river the winter gulls came in close, circling the boat while the two of them simply sat together. We kept our distance and let the morning do the work.

Back on the shore, beside an old wooden boat, the light stayed soft all the way through. No sets, no props, just the Sangam and the two of them.
